Since I last wrote I have a few updates. First, the video I posted on YouTube of Dad’s friends on the way to Woodstock has already led some of his friends to me, even though I made no mention of his name at all with the video.

One of Dad’s old friends just happened to do a search for “Woodstock” and saw his buddies in the video! It’s been viewed 597 times in 6 days! The other video I posted of Dad’s band Black Forest Rhodes playing at Rutgers has led some other friends to me.

Aside from worrying about getting my blog straightened out so I could continue making regular posts on it, I’ve been trying to make progress on editing several videos that I imported to my computer. I thought I would force myself to deal with them by having them on my hard drive ready to edit, rather than on the VHS tapes that had been storing them (and which supposedly begin to deteriorate after 10 years). The issue has been forced even more because now that the videos are on my hard drive, I don’t have enough room on my backup drive to store a full system backup. I’ve been going three weeks now with no back up! So far, I’ve finished editing the 1968 video that contained the above movies, made almost finsihed editing a 1989 video of a visit to my Dad’s house when Eden was a baby, and made great progress on my Wedding Video, although I’m not moving ahead on that till I scan some more of my wedding photos…I spent a lot of last night dealing with the 1989 video and then the Wedding video, but finally burning them to DVD so I can take them off of the hard drive means my computer is largely out of commission, (it needs to use all it’s power to render, etc.) So I am waiting till I can tear myself away for a while.
In the first part of the 1989 video of our visit to Dad’s house in Tucson, the camera is recording Dad’s television, on which is playing a VHS tape of Dad and his friend Aaron Budnick in some kind of Music program. I have tried to locate a copy of this tape for years. Somehow only this year, it occurred to me that Aaron might have a copy of the tape. So I have been hunting for Aaron. Linda said he moved to France and lives with his wife, a model. Google returns nothing. I made another call out to another friend who knew Dad & Aaron, and this time I got Aaron’s brother’s name – Dan, a photographer. Bingo – a phone number online – and the answering machine confirms it’s Dan! I left my plea for a contact with Aaron last week. Then Linda unearthed an old address book with Aaron’s phone and address in London. Unfortunately I can’t call internationally (not going into all the annoying detail). Then tonight another tidbit: Aaron’s parent’s names. I wonder if his Spidey Senses are tingling, because I’m getting closer…

Hey!!!! Found me. I’m thrilled to see your site about your dad. Truely one of the loveliest people and best friends I’ve ever had. I would love to add to the site in any way I can and write some words about the man. I’m just shooting off from my bookshop, but email me back and let me know where you’d like to start, I have thousands of stories as we once counted we had 3 thousand songs we could play together. I played with your dad for ten years, he followed me out to Tucson at my insistence, I tought Mark West all the songs as when he started, live, on stage! Got to dash now, but you found me, actually my father Dan just told me you’d been in touch so now’s the time. Let,s celebrate his life! My email, just in case it doesn’t come up (says hidden) is (hidden)
Peace and Love to you S,

    X,
    A
